Project Manager – T&D Projects

Job Description:
The Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of Project Management, budget management, scheduling and direction for T&D projects ranging from $50,000 feeder extensions to $30M substation projects. Project scope includes all phases from project concept, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning to close-out of all documentation. Successful candidate must be capable of leading multi-discipline and multi-company teams on one or more simultaneous projects.
 

Essential Job Duties:

  • Preparing, tracking, and administering all aspects of project budgets. This individual should be experienced with budget preparation and administration for T&D projects ($50K to $30M).

  • Preparing, maintaining, and tracking compliance with project schedules. Schedules shall be at both the key event level and at a level necessary to support daily work assignments.  Schedules shall include personnel and material resource requirements. This individual will conduct meetings as required, with involved parties, keeping schedules current and resolving resource conflicts, material shortages, or technical problems. 

  • Directing and coordinating actions of participating activities of client engineering, client procurement, vendors, subcontractors permitting organizations. The project Manager must be experienced with coordinating activities of groups of individuals at diverse geographic locations.

  • Identifying, tracking and resolving problems and open items, ensuring that items are resolved on schedule and that client management is kept informed of required actions and status.

  • Resolving technical issues associated with construction, including ensuring assembled systems perform as designed and are delivered / fabricated on schedule.

  • Implementing administrative control systems required to ensure proper tracking of design work, construction, and testing, and ensuring the safety of personnel and the protection of equipment, in accordance with the client’s established programs and systems.

  • Responsible for overall construction and construction site management; including parking, material and equipment lay-down areas and ingress and egress points.

Job Qualifications:
Candidate must have fifteen or more years experience in electric utility T&D in varying positions in engineering, procurement, construction and project management. Extensive experience with construction and rehabilitation of distribution voltage pole lines, reconductoring, switching, pole-mounted transformers and other related construction up to 69kV, and substation modifications and construction is required. Experience with project management, contract administration and contractor oversight required.
